Baby and Toddler Friendly Overnight Oats 3 Ways

Makes 3-6 servings

Ingredients:

1 cup dry baby oatmeal, oat bran or ground oats
1 tablespoon whole milk yogurt or Greek yogurt (optional)
3/4 cup whole or lowfat milk, I prefer Fairlife brand because it’s high in protein and low in sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Separate into 3 small containers equally. Cover and place in the fridge overnight or at least 6 hours. Stir before serving. Can add more liquid before serving if you prefer a looser consistency. Can pop in the microwave for 30 seconds if prefer warm, before serving; or enjoy cold.

  2. Add mix-in toppings before serving: blueberries, hemp seeds, no sugar added jam, peanut butter, applesauce, mashed strawberries or other fruit, diced pear, banana, maple syrup, shredded coconut etc.

Variation #1: Cinnamon Apple

Top overnight oats with a spoonful of unsweetened applesauce and a dash of cinnamon.

Variation #2: Banana with Peanut Butter Drizzle

Mix a spoonful of peanut butter with some milk until you get a thin enough consistency to drizzle on top. Top overnight oats with diced banana and then top with peanut butter drizzle.

Variation #3: Peach Coconut

Top overnight oats with diced peaches (canned, fresh or frozen) and unsweetened shredded coconut.
